ACT Story

Siggi Loch

Siggi Loch

"My philosophy has always been not to look from musicians but for artist personalities of great independence and the recognisable will to inspire an audience."

ACT label boss Siegfried "Siggi" Loch is one of the most successful managers in the international music business and is considered the discoverer and producer of such lauded names as Klaus Doldinger, The Rattles, Katja Ebstein, Amon Düül, Can, Heinz Rudolf Kunze, Marius Müller-Westernhagen and Al Jarreau – to name just a few. At the age of 25 Loch was the youngest boss of an international record company (Liberty-United Artists). At the end of the 80s he turned his back on the major business as president of WEA Europe, and set out to fulfil his childhood dream by founding his own independent label "ACT" in 1992, which is today one of the leading brands in European jazz. Ever since then "In the Spirit of Jazz" has been Loch's guiding principle: music far removed from a predefined style, without being afraid of mixing genres and crossing boundaries. In line with and ahead of the times. For people with open ears and open minds. For the spirit and for the soul.
